Evanston Hospital was one of the first five Emergency Medicine programs in the country and merged with the Emergency Medicine program at Northwestern University Medical School in 1981. As of July 2009, the 28-year merger ceased to exist and our new affiliation is with the University of Chicago, Pritzker School of Medicine. Residents from the Emergency Medicine program at John H.
